On Monday 30th September, the Sri Lanka Forex Association hosted an FX Global Code Workshop in Colombo.
The session lasted a full day and ACIFMA Education had the opportunity to present the FX Global Code and its content to 42 market professionals from several financial institutions based in the country, including representatives from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Following a similar format already delivered in other countries in 2019, attendees were able to test their knowledge on practical examples of how the Code applies to all Market Participants and how it can help promoting adherence to the good market practices which are fundamental to the fairness and integrity of the FX Market.
We believe continuous training and education are absolutely essential to assist adoption to the 55 principles of the Code, so the session was aided by “real life” scenarios that are included in ACI’s ELAC portal, the tool for e-learning, attestation and certification on relevant industry codes. Our two FX Global Code Exams were also introduced to the audience, as excellent tools to test individual knowledge and adherence to the Code.
We look forward to promote awareness of the FX Global Code in the ACI World Congress which will be held this week in Colombo.
