On 29th July, the FX Global Code was signed by the relevant Market Participants in Jamaica.
In a ceremony held in the Auditorium of the Bank of Jamaica, the presidents of the Jamaica Bankers’ Association and of the Cambio Association of Jamaica symbolically signed the FX Global Code to indicate that their members are committed to the 55 principles of this relevant set of good market practices.
This is an excellent initiative by the Bank of Jamaica, aimed at promoting adoption of the Code by all Jamaican Market Participants in the FX Market.
ACIFMA congratulates all these institutions, remains extremely supportive of this initiative and has been working together with the Jamaica Institute of Financial Services in the development of certification programmes for professionals in the country to individually adhere to the Code. The first programme ended in the last month of June, and the second programme will start in September 2019.
